About Us

ANDREW R. LAVIN, President
Andrew Lavin has close to three decades of experience in public relations and marketing communications. There are few categories in which he hasn't had experience.  Which is another way to say he's seen and done a lot throughout his communications career.

For the past 15 years, he has been president of A. Lavin Communications. Working with a dedicated group of professionals, he drives virtually all of his clients programs from inception to implementation. Clients value his senior level expertise as a primary point of contact, knowing that they have continuity on their account. And they appreciate the great thinking dedication and commitment to their company.

Lavin has nearly 30 years of experience in marketing communications working with companies in healthcare, professional and financial services and enterprise software as well as many other industries.  While he believes specialization is important, he enjoys the opportunity to leverage his experiences from one industry program to another.

As a result his firm has developed a reputation for strategic public relations programs that generate targeted news coverage for clients internationally.

Prior to forming A. Lavin Communications in 1995, Lavin was executive vice president of Middleberg Group, where he formed the Interactive Entertainment Division, as well as managed communications programs for major companies including Dreyfus and The Equitable.

Prior to joining M&A in March 1992, Lavin was one of the youngest vice presidents at Ketchum Public Relations, one of the world's largest PR firms and a division of Omnicom. At Ketchum, he supervised the Digital Equipment Corporation and Budget Rent a Car accounts as well as SEGA of America.

He joined Ketchum from G.S. Schwartz & Co., Inc., where he handled major business-to-business and consumer product and technology accounts.

Lavin began his public relations agency career at Richard Weiner, Inc. now Porter/Novelli, where he worked with General Foods, Dunlop Golf, Bell's Scotch Whiskey and the Public Relations Silver Anvil award-winning Cabbage Patch Kids program.

He graduated from Boston University Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in communications.

He lives in Long Island, NY with his wife and two girls.
